I was born in Nashville, Tennessee in November of 1969.  As a kid, I alternated between chubby and downright fat. To make matters worse I had a horrible stutter. It was so bad that I would get physically ill if I had to get up in front of the class and speak for something like a book report, even though I loved to read. I was naturally extroverted, but the fact that I could barely get two words out of my mouth in front of a group of people put a bit of a dampner on things.  I was bullied, picked on and made fun of by many of the other kids, for both being fat and for stuttering. I spent a lot of time feeling ‘different’ and being angry at other kids my age and also at myself because I couldn’t figure out how to fit in with them. More and more I retreated into fantasy land, where I could pretend I had super powers.

I was always fascinated by super strength and other super human abilities, so any character in comics or myth that displayed great strength quickly became a favourite. I wanted to be superhuman.

Eventually….decades later……I would discover that to become a true-life superhuman, for me, meant that I would become a strongman and a coach. I began in 2003, becoming RKC certified and later a Master RKC and Master SFG.  Along the way I become involved in bending steel, tearing decks of cards and other feats as a performing strongman. I realized that this was the perfect vehicle for me to help people understand that every one of us has a superhuman potential, if we are just willing to release it.

Being a high-level kettlebell instructor led me to meeting Paul and Damian McIlroy, who encouraged me to become an Amazing12 Coach. Doing so has dramatically changed the way I run my business and the positive changes I am able to have on the lives of the clients that I train. The Amazing 12 is a program that gives people permission and encouragement to become the person they always wanted to become, but don’t know how.

At first glance, you might think that my superpower is the strength to bend steel. The reality is that my true superpower is helping other people discover and develop their own unique super power and live fuller, happier lives.
